X-WR-CALDESC:This training addresses the violence experienced by children a
 nd youth and the traumatic impact on their lives. We will define trauma\, 
 identify triggers\, signs\, and symptoms\, and recognize trauma-driven beh
 aviors. Trauma will be illustrated from a neuro-physiological point of ref
 erence and participants will examine ways to handle challenging behaviors 
 and promote inner calming. Attention will be given to cultural factors\, l
 earning impediments\, and trans-generational violence in families. We will
  also examine some effective ways of working with children and families wi
 thin the context of their communities. Finally\, we will address ways for 
 service providers to reduce the risk factors of Secondary Trauma.
