The County of San Diego, Child and Family Well-Being (CFWB) department’s shifted focus on prevention has led to positive engagement, outcomes, and experiences for employees and families. By leading intentionally and centering restorative practices, community supporting moves ahead of mandated reporting, cultural and affirming resource families are identified, and Kin-first culture ensures equity and first and last placement. The CFWB Office of Equity leads the way in strategic collaborative partnerships with faith-based, community-based, and racial justice organizations to drive this paradigm shift.
