Drug endangered children are often at risk for familial sex trafficking. Familial sex trafficking involves children who are trafficked by their parents or caregivers, often inside the family home, for the purpose of securing illegal drugs. Identifying these children as early as possible, intervening appropriately, and providing much needed services to the child (or the grown adult who was trafficked as a child by their family) is critical in order to break the generational cycle of substance misuse.
