Parental Substance Use and the Impact on Children and Families
Substance abuse is a growing problem in our families and hurts everyone in the family, especially children. Some people think substance abuse is “drug abuse” and means only illegal drugs like cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, crack and others. Actually, substance abuse includes alcohol, marijuana, prescription drugs and illegal drugs. This training provides an overview of substance use disorders (SUDs) and how they impact the family, parenting capacity, and children. This training also provides ways you can support children and families who are being impacted by substance use disorder.
