Every conversation has the power to make a difference. In this training, you will learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and use the QPR approach: Question, Persuade, and Refer, to support someone in need.

You will gain practical skills to listen without judgment, offer support, and connect individuals to help. You do not need all the answers, just the willingness to show up and offer hope.

What is QPR?
The QPR Institute’s mission is to save lives and reduce suicidal behaviors through practical, evidence-based suicide prevention training. We believe education empowers people from all backgrounds to make a positive difference in someone’s life.

What is a QPR Gatekeeper?
A gatekeeper is someone who is in a position to recognize a crisis and identify warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide.

Participants will:
1. Increase awareness of stigma and understand suicide as a public health issue
2. How to recognize someone at risk for suicide
3. How to Question, Persuade and Refer someone who may be suicidal
4. How to access local and national referral resources
